Overview
The mission of the Oro Valley Historical Society, formed in 2005, is to preserve and share the history of the Greater Oro Valley area through research, education, and community programs. We operate from the Oro Valley Town owned historic Steam Pump Ranch and provide tours of the Pusch House Museum, the grounds of the Ranch, and the Heritage Garden, featuring plants that have provided food throughout our area for thousands of years as well as a replica of a Hohokam pit house.
The Museum is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - noon from September through April. Volunteers are on site to answer questions and provide additional information.
In addition to tours of the Ranch, our members visit facilities and schools to offer information about our area's history, and we host presentations at the Oro Valley Public Library concerning people, places, and stories about our colorful history.
All activites of the Society are complimentary and donations are always gratefully accepted to help us keep Oro Valley history alive!
